'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chris Powell Resigned To Charlton Exit

Chris Powell is resigned to leaving Charlton but he explains why he's not ready to hang up his boots just yet...

'It looks almost certain that I'll be leaving Charlton this summer, which is very sad because I love the club. But I completely understand the reasons.

'I'd have loved to stay on as a fledgling coach and occasional player at the Valley, but there simply aren't the finances available. It's another of the after-effects of relegation. Alan Pardew is a fantastic manager to work with and all the coaching staff have been brilliant with me.

'There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be back at Charlton some time in the future. I feel fate will always take me back there and it'd be a dream to be at the club in some sort of coaching role.'

I don't think that PJ will be looking to Powell Coddy.

I'd have loved him to stay, I still can't believe we're so hard up we can't find something for a true Addicks legend!
