ZiZi, Holland, Fortune and Randolph in Talks

Richard Murray has confirmed that talks have begun with Zheng Zhi, Matt Holland, Jonathan Fortune and Darren Randolph about possible new contracts.

All four, along with Darren Ambrose, Svetoslav Todorov, Nicky Weaver, Aswad Thomas and Rashid Yussuff (who are/will all be released) are out of contract this summer but ZiZi, Holland, Fortune and Randolph have all been offered contracts, Murray told The Official Website: "In light of the club's financial situation we have to talk and discuss the future with every out-of-contract player and their agents and there are quite a few in this category this summer. Of course, at the same time they have every right to talk to other clubs as well.

"We have made a number of firm decisions but are also having talks, which are ongoing, with Jonathan, Matt, Darren and ZiZi.

"What's more, while that process continues, the coaching staff and scouting team are identifying players we may want to bring to the club and we are also talking to a number of other clubs, players and their agents."

Matty Holland and ZiZi are the ones that I'd most like us to keep so if we could arrange deals with them that will give us a welcome boost both in terms of quality and experience that will help us in League 1 next season.

Let's hope they sort worthy contracts out for all 4 of them...ZZ is a pleasant surprise....fingers crossed!! Matty's loyality and commitment to the cause warrant a decent offer. Whilst Fortune has not progressed much in recent years, a fit Forch will be important this season as he knows the club and what we're about. Randolph is an interesting one as I assumed attitude was a big thing with Parky (see Mouataokil, McLeod & Wright)...the lad has a future in the game though.
