Parkinson Keen to Keep Jackson

Phil Parkinson is hopeful that we'll be able to keep Johnnie Jackson beyond his initial one month loan.

Jackson is on loan from Notts County but has already made enough of an impression on The Addicks boss for him to want to keep the former Spurs star for longer.

The biggest problem we'll probably be faced with is being able to afford to do this though, Parkinson told BBC Radio Kent: "Johnnie is halfway through his loan and I would like to keep him now that Grant Basey is out for the season.

"Johnnie wants to stay but financially it will be tight for us."

Jackson was one of Notts County's fairly high profile signings last summer and would be on decent money with so being able to be in a position to be afford to finance this remains to be seen, however I'm not sure I'd be that hopeful of keeping him until the end of the season? If we did then could we then afford to sign him permanently?

Well, he was always a firm favourite with the fans at Colchester, although he did drift in and out of games in central midfield. What position has he been playing for you guys?

There's a chance he might not be able to play again during his loan so that could be that anyway?
