'If It's Football, It's Vital'

There's no Maybe About it. We Do!

In order for Charlton to have any chance of automatic promotion we've got to win all three of our remaining games, and not even that could be enough.

The first of these three is away at Exeter City on Saturday, Leeds Untied at home and Oldham Athletic away complete our regulation League 1 fixture schedule. If we want to gain automatic promotion we need to win all three of these games really however Phil Parkinson isn't entirely sure this would need to be the case, Parkinson said: "Looking at the situation now, it looks like we need three wins to get that second automatic spot, but you never know."

The Addicks boss believes that there are still many twists and turns left this season so knows anything is possible, Parkinson added: "You just have to look at Saturday's results - Gillingham had three centre-halves out and I couldn't see Leeds losing, but they were 3-1 down at half-time.

"It's so unpredictable and tense at this time of the year. You need players with courage to get on the ball and pass it, and you need players who can stand up physically to every challenge.

"We did that against Norwich, and as we've been saying all along there are so many twists and turns in this promotion race."

No one seems to want to step up and claim that second automatic promotion spot so the way things have gone you never know what it might take but I do think that we need to win all of our games to have a chance. This might not be enough, but I'd think it'll give us a pretty good chance!

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Phil Parkinson's latest promotion thoughts? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

It was a must win match, and even that might not have been enough, who we play in the play offs is what we're looking at now.
