Dailly and Wagstaff Claim Annual Awards

Christian Dailly and Scott Wagstaff were the Player of the Year winners for Charlton this season.

Dailly has enjoyed a very good season after his free transfer arrival from Glasgow Rangers during pre-season. The Scottish veteran has been rewarded for his efforts by being named the Player of the Year, Dailly said: "I'm as proud as it's possible to feel. When you look at the names on the trophy from previous years, it's a real honour and so nice to be appreciated like that.

"I put a lot into my football, and it's a big part of my life. Charlton has become a big part of my life, so to get appreciation like that means an awful lot."

The defender can further write his name into our history by helping us secure promotion back to The Championship!

Relegation into League 1 has allowed Wagstaff to been given much more of a chance to show what he can do in midfield this season and the youngster hasn't disappointed. He capped an impressive breakthrough by claiming the Young Player of the Year award.

Both of these deserve their awards, along with all the acclaim that goes with gaining them. We now want both of them to help us gain promotion to cap their seasons!

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Christian Dailly claiming the Player of the Year and Scott Wagstaff the Young Player of the Year? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Well done Dailly...he never makes mistakes, he reads the game well and is an intelligent player, he always is looking around and seems to get in the right position...Hope we keep him another year or so, he can teach the youngsters a thing or too. Well done to Scotty...I have not seen much of him, but he looks to have a bright future...both players a credit to Charlton and to themselves..well done !!

Yes, well done to both as they're worthy winners. Dailly has made the odd mistake but who doesn't?

Dailly's had a good season and probably deserved this over the balance of the season. I wonder if Wagstaff will get much involvement next season if we're playing in the Championship?
