Charlton Drawn Away In Carling Cup
Charlton have been drawn away to Shrewsbury in the first round of the 2010/11 Carling Cup.
Shrewsbury now play at the Greenhous Stadium, having vacated quaint old Gay Meadow, the ground where the club had a man in a coracle to fish the ball from the river when a pass was misdirected!
The tie affords fans an opportunity to visit another new ground for the first time. The Shrews were ensconsed in their former home when Charlton last visited Shropshire in April 1986.
That game ended in a 2-1 defeat with Charlton's goal coming from George Shipley. The Addicks exited the competition at this stage last season following a 1-0 defeat at Hereford and will be looking to avoid a repeat this time around.
The game will be played on Tuesday 10 or Wednesday 11 August.
