Boro Or Celtic For Bailey?

The South London Press are reporting that Middlesbrough are in pole position to sign Nicky Bailey for a fee believed to be around 1.5m.

Gordon Strachan is a long time admirer of Bailey, an all action, flame haired midfielder in his own image. A move to the Championship would appeal to Bailey although Celtic may yet try to hijack the deal.

Ideally, Charlton would like a fee of 2m and the Scottish giants may have to top Boro's bid if they are to entice Bailey to Parkhead. Playing in Europe is a bonus in their favour.

A deal could be completed next week.
