Bailey on the Verge

Middlesbrough have been long-term admirers on Nicky Bailey. They wanted him when we signed him from Southend United and have been linked with our skipper since but they have, until now failed.

This seems set to change though. Bailey was believed to be closing in on this move to Boro last week, however this was denied but an interest wasn't and the efforts to take the 26-year-old to The Riverside continued.

Now it looks as though they will see the midfielder join The Championship side for 1.4m.

There has been an air of inevitability about his departure since his own penalty miss in the League 1 play-off semi final meant that we lost to Swindon Town and failed to gain promotion back to The Championship and now this inevitability is almost a certainty for us due to our financial issues.

Whatever fee we get we've got to give The Shrimpers a percentage of due to a sell on clause agreed when we signed Bailey.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Nicky Bailey's move to Middlesbrough almost being complete? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.
