Double Boost For Charlton

With our opening pre-season friendly against AFC Wimbledon this weekend and Phil Parkinson struggling to field a side he was handed a welcome boost on Monday.

Scott Wagstaff and Gary Basey are both out-of-contract at Charlton after their contracts ended at the end of June, however their presence at training seems to suggest that they'll be staying on at SE7 this season.

Wagstaff 20 and Basey 21 wouldn't be able to leave without a compensation payment due to the fact that they've been with The Addicks since their academy days and they're under the age of 24.

It's unlikely that the youngsters would've attended training if they weren't looking to stay, which is good news as Parkinson has less than a dozen senior first-team players contracted to the club at the moment!

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Scott Wagstaff and Gary Basey returning to training? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

They wouldn't risk injury if they weren't planning on staying would they? Can we get the contracts signed though to make sure.
