Bailey's Charlton Departure Now Confirmed

Both clubs have now officially confirmed Nicky Bailey's move from Charlton to Middlesbrough.

We'll all miss Bailey's quality as a footballer and as a skipper, however from the moment we failed to secure a return to The Championship the writing was on the wall that the midfielder (and other prized assets) would leave The Valley due to our financial situation.

The 26-year-old could've left SE7 before but he didn't so he deserves credit for that and I don't hold a grudge against him leaving now, this is something that had to happen really and 1.4m is a good deal that couldn't be refused.

I'll wish Bailey well it's just a shame that his final actions as an Addicks player were missing a penalty in the League 1 play-off defeat against Swindon Town, as that isn't the way his career with the club should've ended really.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Nicky Bailey's departure being officially confirmed? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Good luck Nicky. Pity we did not have a clone to play up front!
