Wagstaff Close To New Charlton Deal

The fact that Scott Wagstaff, and Grant Basey both returned to pre-season training with Charlton this week seemed to suggest that staying at SE7 was high on their agendas.

Wagstaff, and Basey are both out of contract but wouldn't be able to leave The Addicks without the club getting some form of compensation. However both look as though they'll be staying with 20-year-old Wagstaff close to agreeing a new deal, Parkinson told The South London Press: "We`re close to agreeing a deal with Scott.

"We`d like to keep him."

The midfielder wouldn't have returned to pre-season training if he didn't want to stay with the club would he? This will hopefully be agreed before the friendly against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Scott Wagstaff closing in on a new deal? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Why would he want to leave? We've looked after him so it's time for him to look after us.
