Esajas Cut Loose By Charlton

Etienne Esajas' trial with Charlton has ended with the free agent failing to earn himself a contract at SE7.

Esajas, released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of his contract was looking to get something signed with The Addicks but Phil Parkinson wasn't in a hurry to offer the winger a contract at this stage so he has moved on after turning out for us against AFC Wimbledon.

Parkinson doesn't think that the 25-year-old will be without a club for long though but he wasn't right for us at this time, Parkinson told The SLP: "Etienne wanted a decision from us quickly and I didn't think he had done enough to warrant the type of contract he was looking for at this stage.

"I have no doubts he will go on to find a good club but it just wasn't right for us at this point."

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Phil Parkinson's decision not to offer Etienne Esajas a contract? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Now that we have signed Kyel Reid, we don't need him. If he is not good enough for another Club in our league, we have, probably, made the right decision.

We don't need him anymore now that Reid's come back. We know what he can do so it's a better deal for us all round really.
