Charlton Pair Get Much Needed Game Time

Football is what Joe Anyinsah and Jon Fortune need at this point in time and both got a good run out in the reserves on Tuesday night.

A behind closed doors friendly at Sparrow Lane saw both play more than 70 minutes in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace with Anyinsah also getting on the scoresheet along with Bally Smart, who continues to train with The Addicks and has impressed.

Mark Kinsella knows that both needed this match and knows that both need more, however he's also sure this will happen with the matches we've got coming up, Kinsella told The Official Website: "Joe played very well. He held it up well and gave us a platform to play from.

"Both he and Jon still need games, but they got another 70 minutes under their belts. We've got another friendly next week and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game at Milton Keynes Dons coming up, so we'll keep tabs on them.

"Joe scored, which is always nice for a striker, and Jon got through another 70-odd minutes. He's still a work in progress."

Phil Parkinson had previously said that he'd been keen on sending Fortune out on loan for a month so that is still a possibility, however with Christian Dailly out for a month the need to have Fortune around as cover has grown but I wouldn't have thought The Addicks boss would throw him in ahead of the schedule he'd set, unless he really had to.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Jon Fortune and Joe Anyinsah getting some football under their belts? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Both need football so this at any level helps. I can't see Fortune being involved for a while though as he's barely had any football for a year or so.
