'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Parkinson Post Carlisle

When you are 3-0 up, even if it's away from home you'd expect to see the job through wouldn't you and Charlton did (just about) against Carlisle United on Saturday.

For the second time this season The Addicks threw away this kind of lead, however this time we did manage to win eventually with an injury time winner from Paul Benson to secure the points in a 4-3 win.

Phil Parkinson feels that Saturday proved "you've never done it in football" and a game is never won until it's won, Parkinson told BBC London 94.9: "I felt that when we got the third, we started to believe that we'd done it, and you've never done it in football."

I think that you need to come out with something a little more decisive than "we were complacent" really when you let a 3-0 lead slip, however the main thing is we did win even if we should have won more convincingly.

The Addicks boss also felt that Carlisle had the referee on their side so his comments about him might land him in hot water again, adding: "When you have a ref like we did today, who I normally like, I thought he was Carlisle's best player in the second half, giving them every decision and every free-kick."

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Phil Parkinson's thoughts following the Carlisle win? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.
