Negotiations To Open With Midfield Duo

As both Therry Racon and Jose Semedo will be out of contract at the end of the season Charlton are keen on getting them tied down to new contracts.

New contracts will need to be agreed with the midfielders soon or we'll run the risk of losing them for nothing when they become free agents and Phil Parkinson doesn't want this happening so talks will open soon, Parkinson told The South London Press: "I've spoken to the chairman and we're going to sit down with those players and open talks."

Both players have often been linked with moves away from SE7 so I'd think that the vultures will be starting to circle soon so we'll need to get in there quickly before any Bosman free transfer moves can be plotted.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on contract talks opening with this Addicks duo? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Semedo might stay, because of his empathy with the fans. My feeling is that money will be an important, but secondary issue. I believe that Racon will go. A pity because he is back in top form. Parkinson's relationship with both players will be an important issue.
