Hayes might yet return

When Paul Hayes left Charlton for Wycombe on loan it was thought that this would be until the end of the season.

28-year-old Hayes did indeed join the clubs league one rivals on loan until the season ends but what few did not realise is, as Chris Powell revealed this week, that Charlton inserted a clause into the loan that allows them to recall him to The Valley after 28-days should they so wish.

Powell was undecided as to letting the striker leave the club or not in the first place but with him having an opportunity to feature regularly he felt this was the best thing for all concerned.

Although with a recall option in place it could still work in Charlton's favour very much as if he can rediscover his goalscoring touch he could return to The Valley just in time to help with the final promotion push.
