With Charlton already a goal down a mistake from Charlton keeper Ben Hamer gifted The U's the decisive second.
Chris Powell has praised his keeper but knows he made a mistake, but also knows he does not need him to tell him this: 'Ben's been excellent for us.
'A real top keeper, but he's made a mistake.
'I don't need to tell him anything. It's there in technicolor. It sometimes happens.'
Charlton still hold a massive advantage in their quest to land the league one title with this home defeat the first suffered in the league since April last year.
