Eagles Win At The Valley

The Eagles gained a well deserved win at The Valley, ending a winless streak that stretched back to before man had walked on the moon.

Bradley Wright-Phillips, Ricardo Fuller and Ben Hamer had Charlton's best chances. Wright-Phillips had the ball in the net in the first half but had it wrongly disallowed for offside. Fuller put a Wilson cross wide when he should have done better amd Hamer had a late header cleared off the line by Owen Garvan.

Palace's wide players caused the Addicks problems all night. The winning goal came six minutes into the second half. A right-wing corner by Garvan was headed back for Kagisho Dikgacoi to volley home.

The Addicks travel to Pride Park on Tuesday evening to face a Derby side who are just one place above them in nineteenth position in the table.
