A Fair Result
Chris Powell has admitted that he thinks the 2-2 draw with Peterborough on Tuesday night was probably a fair result.
Charlton had to come from behind, and didn't really get into the game until the second half and that pleased Powell, who said: 'I think a point apiece was about right overall.
'We started well only to find ourselves behind, but then responded very well in the second half to get in front.'
Michael Bostwick was earmarked as being someone to watch, and it was him that earned Posh their point. The Charlton boss wasn't pleased that he wasn't prevented from "unleashing" but ultimately was content with his lot, he added: 'We were well aware of the fact that Michael Bostwick has a good strike on him. It's something we spoke about beforehand but unfortunately we couldn't stop him unleashing one to get Peterborough level.
'Both teams had chances and both could have won it, but I'll settle for a point after a couple of poor results lately.'
Charlton are still looking over their shoulders though and run the risk of being dragged into a relegation dog fight, again something not lost on Powell: 'We're only six points clear of the relegation zone so we can't afford to be complacent. That sort of gap can be wiped out very quickly so and we must continue to work hard.'
It's not a bad point, three points would have obviously been preferable but a defeat would have left them even more fearful of being dragged into the Championship relegation scrap for sure ahead of the weekend meeting with Huddersfield.
