Interest Shown In Stephens And Morrison?

Interest Shown In Stephens And Morrison?

Reports are saying that interest in players exiting the Valley, as opposed to coming to Charlton, is more likely at the moment? Both Dale Stephens and Michael Morrison are being linked with moves away.

Stephens is being linked with a step up to the premier league with the Stoke Sentinel crediting the national press with saying that Mark Hughes' side are interested in the midfielder, who had previously this season looked like he could move on. However in more recent times he's expressed a desire to sign a new contract and stay.

Whereas Sky Sports "understands" that Morrison is of interest to several other clubs at championship level with Scottish premier league outfit Celtic also keeping an eye on the defender, who is one of several out of contract this summer.

Chris Powell said that getting contracts sorted out was his priority once the takeover went through, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much development in this area and that is leaving some getting a little twitchy....

The Addicks today also missed out on Cameron Stewart, who will spend the next three-months on loan with Leeds ahead of a permanent signing on a three-year contract when his contract expires with Hull in the summer.

More positively though the club don't foresee any issues with the weekend game, a real six-pointer, against Barnsley at the Valley. In the past week alone the FA Cup tie with Oxford had been called off twice due to a waterlogged pitch but it'll be in a fit shape to host the Tykes on Saturday.
