Powell: There Is No Problem
Chris Powell has moved to quash the rumours that he and Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet have had any differences since his takeover of the club was complete.
The Addicks boss isn't happy that Dale Stephens has left for Brighton that Yann Kermorgant is poised to join Bournemouth today but understands the lay of the land and know that if contracts are expiring, and new ones aren't going to be signed something has to give.
He has insisted that he's been kept in the loop with developments on players and is in regular contract with the owner too.
The Charlton boss told the London Evening Standard: 'I am aware of what is going on, absolutely. There is no problem there. Let's make this clear, I have always known we are vulnerable when players have got six months remaining on their deals.
'Yann and Dale are two very good players. I would prefer them to be here but there are decisions to make and they are being made.
'Football is a business and people do not want to lose money. We have new owners and they have ideas of how to run football clubs and financially what to do. We are all in the loop, every day there are exchanges of texts, emails and phone calls.
'I speak with Roland on a regular basis about ideas, strategy and what is right for the club.'
It was also denied that Powell is unhappy that his recruits have come from other clubs owned by Duchatelet with him stating that it would be "silly" for Charlton not to "use the network because there are a number of talented players out there" and it is a case of taking advantage to bring players to the Valley through his other clubs.
