Derby County v Charlton Athletic PREVIEW

Derby County v Charlton Athletic PREVIEW

On Saturday Charlton will travel away to Derby County in the Sky Bet Championship.

FACTS

The last time these two played each other was a win for Derby at the Valley winning 0-2 from goals from Jamie Ward and Craig Bryson.

Charlton last won this fixture in a 1-0 win at home in January 2002 in the Premier League with the goal coming from forgotten player Chris Bart-Williams after having a successful loan from Nottingham Forest.

In this fixture Charlton have won 28 times while Derby have won 32 times and have also drawn 19 times.

Charlton currently sit 21st in the league and are 3 points above the relegation zone after winning 0-1 away at the City Ground, while Derby just coming off a 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town are sitting 4th on a comfy 66 points a 9 point cushion from 7th.

TEAM NEWS

Charlton are still concerned about Callum Harriott after he picked up an ankle injury at home in the 0-3 loss to Burnley last Saturday, Charlton signed Davide Petrucci on loan from Manchester United and is available for selection.

Derby have injury problems as club captain Shaun Barker is out with a knee injury same with Paul Coutts, while James O`Connor is out with a thigh injury. John Eustace is back after he served his two-match ban.

MY PREDICTION

Of course I would love the Addicks to win but this is going to be a very tough game and Charlton would be lucky to come out with a point, Derby have won one game in the last six but are expected to sweep Charlton aside, if Charlton can keep concentration and take the shots we get we could be lucky enough for another 1-0 win but I predict that Charlton will get the 1-1 draw with the Rams.
