'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Madjid Bougherra Bid Rebuffed.

Alan Pardew tabled a 1.3 million offer for the Algerian international earlier this week as he tries to shore up our leaky defence.

Bougherra has impressed at Hillsborough this season and his performances have attracted the interest of a number of top-flight clubs.

Addicks boss Pardew is keen to reshape his squad and had made Bougherra one of his top targets.

However, Wednesday are keen to keep hold of the former Crewe man and Owls chief executive Kaven Walker confirmed Charlton's offer was rebuffed.

'We have rejected a 1.3 million offer from Charlton Athletic for Madjid Bougherra,' Walker told the club's official website.

'He is not for sale.'

Pardew is expected to return with an improved offer.

It seems to be a frustrating transfer window for the club with no major deals completed yet.

'Magic' is a quality player- i have no doubts he would improve almost any prem team. We would be looking for a hefty percenage of next sale clause though, because he can play top 4 teams in prem one day. What about 2 mill plus lloyd sam?

Please tell me we haven't signed Djimi Traore as is being reported! The guy is a joke. Pompey want to stay in the top six not slip out of it Traore will help us do just that. Diawara is meant to be following also (another superb singing he'll prove!!!) I know what why not complete a trio and bring Amdy Faye back to Fratton he's clearly proved himself a massive hit at the Valley (see poll) Jimmy is leaving too isn't he so maybe we can have a slice of his ample belly while we are at it...

Traore has been confirmed for 1million thats half what we paid 5 months ago. For that money he should be a good squad player as your left backs are injured. Diawara has shown good flashes but needs time to adapt thats why it will only be aloan move, ive heard O'Brien could come the other way for Diawara, i hope not hes not great is he. As for Faye yes please we paid silly money for him and hes clueless. Pardew is starting to wheel and deal.
