Fortune returns home

Jon Fortune has been recalled from his loan spell at Stoke City ahead of Charlton's crunch game with Watford this weekend.

Alan Pardew has lost Souleymane Diawara for the trip after he picked up his fifth yellow of the season against West Ham United last Saturday.

Hermann Hreidarsson and Madjid Bougherra are both struggling with knee injuries, that leaves Alan Pardew short at the back which means Fortune looks likely to go straight into the side that travels to Vicarage Road alongside Talal El Karkouri in the heart of the defence.

Pardew told the Charlton official site: 'It was important for Jon to get some games under his belt but the terms of the agreement were that we could recall him after the first month if required.

'With Souley suspended and Hermann and Madjid still struggling that's exactly what's happened and he will bolster the squad ahead of the weekend.'
