Carson Scoops Player Of The Year

Carson Scoops Player Of The Year

The 21 year old has been in fine form despite the clubs lowly league position. However with the keeper catching the eye week in week out it he has reportedly attracted a lot of interest, with Arsenal rumoured to be ready to place a bid.

Carson though has said he is happy playing games at The Valley and he has indicated he would be willing to stay here beyond this season. Any move however is only likely to happen if we stay up, a task that is looking less likely now.

Carson said of his time at the club: 'I like the club, I like everyone here and I like the players.'

'Hopefully we can get a few more points and stay up and then hopefully it will be a possibility.

'I've enjoyed it here, the main thing is that I have been playing games.

'The season could have been a bit smoother, we've had three different managers and everything like that, but I'm just happy to be playing games, that's what I want to do.'

Darren Bent, last seasons winner came second in the vote and midfielder Matt Holland came third.

Mark Robson named striker James Walker as young player of the year.

Thoroughly deserved. Without doubt the best signing we made in the summer. It's a shame we are going down and will lose him.
