Gooners To Enter Bent Race?

Arsenal look likely to enter the race for Darren Bent after agreeing to sell Thierry Henry to European giants Barcelona.

Arsenal have agreed a deal thought to be in the region of £16m for Henry who will be 31 at the end of next season.

Only a medical stands in the way for the Frenchman`s move across Europe. This leaves Arsenal without their main goal scorer and in need of a ready made replacement.

Bent looks set to leave The Valley and he looked destined for Upton Park after we agreed a deal with the Hammers for £18m. Bent however decided he didn't want to re-join Curbs and he turned the move and £80,000 a week down.

Spurs are believed to be the new installed favourites for Bent but only if they meet Charlton's valuation. So far the north London club have failed to get a bid accepted and Arsenal could now nick their target.

With the funds coming in from Henry the gooners have plenty of cash available and could well make a move for Bent who is a life long gunners fan.

Bent would find it hard to turn down a move to The Emirates stadium and so Charlton may well cash in on their star man.

Whatever happens Arsenal will need to pay more for Bent than what they sold Henry. Football is a funny old game.

Looks like Wenger will bid cash and Alex Song for Benty. Im sure that will suit Charlton.

At 17/18 million, the spuds can have him!! Decent player but not worth more than 6-8 million.

I think Arsenal would be insulting Henry and their club if they signed Bent for 17million, dont get me wrong Bent is a great player but he is nowhere near Henry. I think the Arsenal fans would be outraged if that was Thierry's replacement

The money quoted for Bent is just madness!

I agree, he is a good player but isnt worth the same let alone more than Henry. Its bizaare they could of got double that if they would of sold him last year. When i first read it was 16mil i thought perhaps they were getting a player as well, but it seems not. such a shame
