Chris Powell Returns Home

Charlton legend Chris Powell has rejoined the Addicks on a one year player/coach deal.

Powell spent last season at The Valley as they was relegated along with Alan Pardew's men.

The 37-year-old is a firm Valley favourite with the Addicks supporters and the fans will be delighted that Powell has decided to return to Charlton for a third and surely final spell.

Talking to Charlton's official site manager Pardew said: I'm delighted Chris has rejoined the club, and it's not just as a player this time.

"Not only will he offer competition at left-back, I've brought him in for his experience and guidance in and around our young players.

"I will also be using his vast knowledge of the game and will be introducing him to relaying that to players in a coaching capacity during the season."

Powell himself was over the moon to be back: "Someone said to me the other day that it looked like Charlton was my wife, and I'd had two affairs but she'd let me back again.

"Maybe that's the case, but I'm forever grateful because I love this place. Just driving into training this morning felt right."

In total Powell has made 251 league and cup appearances in which he has scored twice. Welcome home Chris, We Love You.
