'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Earnshaw, Mills and Pressley Linked

Not long left now until the transfer window slams shut and according to reports Charlton may well be a busy club over the next 48 hours.

The biggest shock of all the moves has to be Earnshaw. According to Plymouth boss Ian Holloway the deal has been done and Earnshaw has quit Derby County just 2 months after joining them.

Asked about late transfer business on Argyle's official website, Holloway said: 'There's already one! Earnshaw's gone from Derby - already - to Charlton, which seems ludicrous to me.

Holloway was questioned by his side's site as to whether or not he will be doing any late deals.

It now seems that Holloway has let slip about Charlton's move for Earnshaw.

Derby were refusing to confirm whether the deal would be sanctioned with a spokesman saying: 'We refuse to comment on transfer speculation.'

It is thought Billy Davies could be willing to offload Earnshaw in order to finance a big-money move for Portsmouth's David Nugent, who himself only moved to Pompey from Preston in the summer.

Football has gone mad!

Some slightly more realistic or should I say believable moves involve Danny Mills and Steven Pressley.

Mills is out of favour at Man City and would be excellent cover for injured right back Moutaouakil. The former Charlton man would welcome the chance to return to The Valley and get some first team action.

Steven Pressley was close to joining Charlton last January but instead he decided to move to Celtic. The Scottish defender has been unable to force himself into the starting 11 and will move on to keep his chances of International football open. The deal would be an initial loan agreement.

Watch this space, Pardew could be a busy boy....
