Marcus Heading To Wigan?

Charlton striker Marcus Bent looks set for a return to The Premiership with Wigan Athletic.

Wigan manager Chris Hutchings is eager to land striker Bent after ditching his interest in Manchester City forward Darius Vassell.

Bent has been playing well since the domestic season began and had looked like being a first choice striker for Pardew.

However there are now reports that the former Everton man had a bust up with Pardew on Saturday after being substituted and he could now be on his way.

Bent has never looked a decent player in a Charlton shirt and when Curbishley paid £2.5m for his services from Everton, many guessed it was a big waste of money.

A waste of money he has been and from 52 matches since joining, Bent has scored 5 goals.

Some fans will be pleased to see the back of Bent and should he move on he will be signing for his TENTH professional club. The lad does get around.

So with Danny Mills and Sam Sodje expected to sign in at The Valley before midnight tomorrow Marcus Bent could be heading the other way.

Pardew has plenty of other strikers in the ranks with the likes of Luke Varney, Chris Iwelumo, Izale McLeod, Svetoslav Todorov and the out on loan youngster Chris Dickson.

Pardew is linked with a deal for Earnshaw at Derby but with this many forwards Pardew may well wait until the window re-opens next year.

Are you happy with our squad before the window shuts? Do you think we need more players? Have your say now...
