Addicks Skipper Giving Ireland Role

Addicks skipper Andy Reid has been recalled to the Ireland starting line-up for there must win European Championship qualifier with the Czech Republic tomorrow.

It was a surprise when Reid was left out of the Ireland side that drew with Slovakia at the weekend, but injuries to Kevin Doyle and Stephen Ireland have seen the Addicks skipper given the nod by Steve Staunton who said: "The conditions on Saturday definitely wouldn't have suited Andy, but he is such a talent he can conjure a goal up out of anything or play that killer pass.

Ireland know that they have to win to keep alive their qualification hopes, so with Reid's help and ability to create something from nothing they will have a chance of getting that win they crucially need.

Ireland need to win, so with Reid starting they have that creative influence that could help them. Just get through the game with no problems though.

good experience, can only benefit us, as long as he comes back without any injuries.

Certainly that is always the worry, particularly with Reidy! He'll really benefit the Irish though.
