Iwelumo's Premier League Dream

Chris Iwelumo has admitted his determination to play in the Premier League, and if he keeps scoring for the Addicks his wish will be granted.

The in form Addicks striker is now approaching double figures for the season, and has scored three goals in his last three matches, helping us to victories in all of them. He is enjoying life with the Addicks, and chose to come here because of the challenge ahead of him, but a challenge that also gave him his chance of fulfilling his Premier League Dream: "One of the reasons I moved here in the summer was that I wanted a different challenge. At Colchester not a lot of people expected us to do anything, but week in, week out we continued to surprise people," Chris Iwelumo told the Addicks website

"I wanted to be part of a team that were favourites, that were expected to win every week and have that pressure on me. At the moment I'm scoring goals and I'm feeling good, enjoying my football and just looking forward to every game.

"Playing in the Premier League is something I have always wanted to do, so hopefully I might get the chance. This is definitely the biggest club I have played for, with some fantastic technical players. Of course you are going to improve and that's one of the reasons I came here."

Chris Iwelumo has been in top form recently, revelling in a lone striker role, a role almost forced upon Alan Pardew due to injuries and lack of form of the other strikers at he Valley, but he has adapted very well to this, earning a Scotland B call-up in the process, so if he keeps progressing a full international call-up could be waiting for him.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Chris Iwelumo's comments, how important is he to the Addicks and will he help fire us back to the Premier League? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

He is really doing well at the moment, and really seems to have found his feet here now. Playing a lone striker role is a gifted art, but an art he seems to know very well. Ideally we would like a goalscorer alongside him too, and if we can do this his Premier League dream is even more likely to bare fruition.

He's a good pro apart from the fact that he insulted the U's fans on his way out ready for his 10 K contact. Great player, used not to get enough credit for doing well. Thank Parky for his signature! Good free signing - we wz mugged!

will it ever happen

Great player and I adore him! Why don't you like him? LOL
Pardew is Sexy
He certainly seems to have found his feet at Charlton and I am sure a regular place in the scottish set up can't be far away.

Maybe, we will just have to wait and see.
