Dickson Shows the Right Attitude

Dickson Shows the Right Attitude

Chris Dickson, the in form Addicks striker on loan with Gillingham, keeps on scoring but also keeps showing the right attitude.

Having sat out the Gills FA Cup tie with Barnet last Saturday, having not been given permission by the Addicks to play in the FA Cup (as we don't want him cup tied, which is a good sign) he returned to their line-up on Tuesday and duly scored again, but this is not going to his head and he remains firmly grounded: "It's going all right for me but I'm taking every game as it comes," said Dickson on the Addicks website.

"I'm enjoying it now, that's the main thing. I'm doing well so I've got to keep going - and if I get the chance back at Charlton I'd love to get in the team and help us get back to the Premier League.

"I am here now at Gillingham to get experience, knuckle down and learn my trade, and the manager has said he has got more than one eye on me so I'll just try and keep doing what I'm doing."

Chris Dickson continues to say all the right things and I personally hope that when he does return he is given the chance to show us what he can do at the Valley in the Championship. We already knew he could score goals at reserve team level, and albeit at a lower level seven goals in nine appearances for the Gills proves he can do it at professional level too.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Chris Dickson's comments, he's saying the right things isn't he. Do you think he will get the chance he deserves when he returns? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

He should keep enjoying the loan, but as soon as we can we should get him back and give him a chance.

... very important! Just ask Colchester's George Elokobi about attitude at the moment. After missing ouf for two games he's put in a transfer request!!

Gills fan here. You have got a real gem in Chris Dickson, he is a fantastic prospect for you guys. Dickson has shown all the attributes to be a fantastic player in the future, he has frightening speed, great skill and deadly finishing. However, he still needs a few months on loan with us before he is ready for upper Championship football. He is a bit to selfish, which of course can be a good thing, but with Chris he would opt for a long shot rather than a through ball. Stay with us for a few more months and I am sure he will end up banging in the goals for you guys up The Valley at the end of the season. Also, it just goes to show how important giving players a chance is. He came to us off a poor spell at Crewe, at didn't really impress when he came on as a sub in his first few games for us. But, on his first start he scored a hat-trick for us!

Thank-you for this post NolanGills, I realyl hope he gets the chance at the Valley. I think another month with you will do him good, but would hope that'll be the lot?
