PNE Reduce Ticket Prices

Just to clarify things, Preston have agreed to lower ticket prices to travelling Addicks fans as well as their own for this Saturday evening's Championship encounter.

Originally the Lilywhites were going to charge Addicks fans between £21 and £25 per tickets (adults), whereas they had reduced tickets for the Sky Sports televised game to a mere £10 (again, adults) for their own fans.

Having come under pressure negotiations yielded a successful climax and although I wrote an article on the matter on Wednesday (when the Addicks fans and board were not amused) just as I published it an agreement was reached, so I did add a section to the end, but in order to give the Lilywhites full credit here is another, putting forward the views of Addicks chief executive Peter Varney, who told the Addicks website: "Our issue has always been with the league rule that permitted the situation our supporters faced on Saturday to arise.

"I would like to thank Preston, and in particular their chairman Derek Shaw and general manager Ben Rhodes, for taking this action in the interests of both sets of supporters."

The honourable thing was done here in the end, and credit must go to the Lilywhites, who although it was the right thing to do it was something they didn't necessarily have to.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on the Lilywhites backing down? Credit must be given. Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

It was disappointing that tickets weren't reduced for both home and away fans originally for the live Sky match, but that was the Lilywhites prerogative, they did what thy thought best. Thankfully they had a re-thing and realised it was wrong and did the honourable thing which will be the right thing in the long run.
