Pardew Reflects Another Home Defeat

Alan Pardew was less than pleased following yet another Addicks defeat at home this season.

The Addicks fans were quick to vent their anger after the 3-1 defeat to Burnley at the Valley on Saturday, with a stunning striker from Skipper Andy Reid the only plus point of the afternoon. In order to stay in touch with the leaders in the Championship the form (which has deserted us in the last two games) needs to be found again, and quickly and Alan Pardew wants but also expects this starting against Cardiff on Tuesday: "We've dug ourselves into a hole and we go to Cardiff on Tuesday night needing to get a big reaction," Alan Pardew told Sky Sports.

"I still think that in the dressing room we've got enough good players with enough experience to deal with this situation and get ourselves promoted.

"We gave three bad goals away today and it's fair to say we hit the self-destruct.

"We have this ability to gift teams situations and we have to stop that. We need to be a bit more dogged at home and not as ambitious."

The Addicks appear to be doing exactly what they did last time a good run of form ended, as the defeat on Saturday was the second defeat running (and in less than a week at home) and the last time we went on a losing streak we lost three in a row, not something that I am looking for us to repeat.

The players are more than capable of getting the Addicks back to the Premier League, but a win is a must against Cardiff, a third straight defeat for the second time this season would not be promotion form, definitely not automatic promotion form as others will not keep slipping up as well.

It's like some sorta chain reaction! If we are to go up this season, then we need a win badly!!
