THE THIRD ANNUAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE AWARDS INCORPORATING FOURFOURTWO`S TOP 50 FOOTBALL LEAGUE PLAYERS
-Fans to have their say on The Football League`s Best Player-
The Football League and FourFourTwo are pleased to announce that the Football League Awards are back and once again fans can have their say on which Football League players should make FourFourTwo`s prestigious Top 50 list.
The third annual Football League Awards event will recognise footballing excellence on and off the field, with clubs and players honoured alongside fans. There will be 19 award categories in total, including a range of football awards and industry specific honours. This year divisional awards have been introduced to honour clubs from The Championship, League One and League Two.
FourFourTwo`s Top 50 Football League players will be announced at a ceremony which will take place at the prestigious London Hilton on Park Lane on Sunday 2nd March 2008.
Fans wishing to vote for the players they believe should be in the reckoning for a place in the Top 50 should visit www.fourfourtwo.com. The votes will be counted and a shortlist drawn up for an expert panel to judge.
The Chairman of The Football League, Lord Mawhinney said: "This year`s ceremony will once again recognise the outstanding contribution made to The Football League by fans, players, clubs and sponsors.
"Giving the fans the opportunity to vote allows them to share their views on who should make the Top 50 Football League Players. This is a great way to get fans more involved; without their support the event would just not be possible."
The January issue of FourFourTwo magazine is out now, and contains further details of how to vote, and also a list of suggested Football League players from each club to get the voting started.
Editor of FourFourTwo magazine, Hugh Sleight said; "These awards celebrate all that`s great about the Football League; the success and achievement of the clubs and the players. FourFourTwo is proud to be involved for the third consecutive year."
