Darren Ambrose On Battle At Top

Darren Ambrose predicts who will be in the running for promotion as he looks back at Charlton's game against West Brom.

'We came crashing back down to earth with a bump last time out at West Brom after enjoying a great sequence of results before that. We have to hold our hands up and say we didn`t perform in that one, but credit to West Brom though because I was extremely impressed with them. They are a side that will be around the top of the table all season long in my opinion.

'It was lovely for the side to show the fans what we are all about at the Valley. Most of our best performances have been away on the road this season for some reason, with some bad results occurring at home. Putting on a great display for the supporters was long overdue.

'This season`s promotion battle is going to go to the wire. I reckon six to eight teams are all capable of going straight up to the Premier League. As long as we stay in the mix I think we will be fine. It will be very tight right up until the last day mind you.'

He is right, so many teams are capable of going up and it will be a battle until the last, we will at least make the play-offs, but I still think we can finish in the top two.
