Alan Pardew was left disappointed after yet another sending off in our 1-1 draw with Norwich on Boxing Day.
Sam Sodje became the latest Addicks player send off, for an ugly two footed challenge on the Canaries player Darel Russell (who later went on to equalise Zheng Zhi's opening goal just before the sending off) and Alan Pardew is not pleased with our current lack of discipline and he told the media after the match: "The number of sendings off is worrying and its not something I want to be associated with as a manager.
"I've never had that sort of problem with discipline in any of my teams before and its something we'll need to look at because it is proving very costly to us.
"I told my players to go out and be aggressive today, but aggressive in a calm manner. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with the sending off.
"The two-footed tackle is not something I can condone as a manager bearing in mind it is something I would like to see outlawed from the game.
"As soon as the ball has gone between Sam and Russell I knew it would be a tough tackle. But there is no excuse for lunging in with two feet as Sam did."
Overall though Alan Pardew was pleased with the point after playing for more than an hour with ten men against a much improving canaries side: "I was pleased to come away with a draw, bearing in mind the sending off and the fact that Norwich were in the middle of a good run. It puts us in good heart for Leicester on Saturday.
"The players worked extremely hard to keep Norwich out for such a long time, they showed a lot of character and deserved credit for the way they performed. It was a backs-to-the-wall effort and they performed their job superbly."
After not knowing how to draw we've now had two in our last two matches.
