Vital Quotes: Phil Parkinson

Parky was speaking to the official site about the likely absentees and thin squad;

'The positive side is it gives other people a chance to get some match action. The players out there will get good opportunities to stake a claim for a first-team place. But equally it has just hit home to us that a couple of injuries have left us vulnerable in terms of numbers.'

Hereford Utd Team News:

The Bulls drew 2-2 at Morecambe on Saturday. John Trewick admitted to having mixed feelings following his first point as Hereford manager, he also said that both he and his players feel they can do better.

Player to watch: Marc Pugh

Scored two goals on Saturday to earn his team a point at Morecambe.

Charlton Athletic Team News:

Parky revealed after Saturday's game that new signings Miguel Llera (stitches in head wound), Christian Dailly (rib injury) and Frazer Richardson ('knock') would all be struggling for the fixture with the Bulls. He then confirmed on Monday that Lloyd Sam (patella) and Jonjo Shelvey (heel) would also be absent.

Charlton's defensive options are limited but Jose Semedo, Kelly Youga or Yado Mambo can cover in the centre, while Chris Solly and Grant Basey are available to take a place in the full-back positions.

In midfield Scott Wagstaff, Matt Spring, Alex Stavrinou and new signing Wade Small could feature, while Parky could also choose to rest the likes of Nicky Bailey and Therry Racon. Dean Sinclair (knee) is a definite absentee.

Up front, Andy Gray and Izale McLeod - late substitutes at the weekend - are in contention, along with Deon Burton and Stuart Fleetwood. Chris Dickson is on international duty with Ghana.

Darren Randolph will battle it out with Rob Elliot for the spot between the posts. Randolph made 14 appearances for the Bulls on loan last season but former manager Graham Turner's controversial decision to bring in another loan custodian, Matt Murray, paved the way for the Irishman's premature return to The Valley.

Player to watch: Wade Small

The new man will want to impress on his debut.
