The winless streak now stands at five with the performances being as poor as the results. Phil Parkinson seems to have taken a leaf out of his mentor's book with a bewildering number of personnel, tactical and formation changes of recent times.
He has asked for patience from the Valley faithful, mindful no doubt that it is beginning to wear a little thin on the terraces. The automatic promotion spots are far from the thoughts of most these days, with even a play-off spot beginning to look in danger
Johnnie Jackson, Parkinson's first signing for Colchester and their player of the year in 2008, has been brought in on loan to primarily provide cover at left-back. Jackson has played the odd game there but is by no means a specialist full-back.
Jackson played twenty Premier League games for Spurs on the left-wing scoring a single goal, a terrific effort at The Valley in Spurs' 4-2 win.
Impressive going forward, he has a sweet left-foot and will provide real quality at dead ball situations.
Yeovil will have some players who will relish the trip to SE7. Aaron Davies was one of the scorers in their 3-2 FA Cup defeat, while Kieran Murtagh and Sam Williams spent time on Charlton's books as youngsters.
Trying to read Parkinson's mind these days is as difficult as reading Pardew's used to be. Some are clamouring for a return to 4-5-1 which got the season off to a flying start. The system featured Bailey on the left which is not his best or favoured position. Parkinson will probably opt fot the nore traditional 4-4-2 shape.
Johnnie Jackson will comein for his debut at left-back while David Mooney is expected to be fit after his head injury. Mooney may have to settle for a place on the bench again though.
Bailey will probably return to a more central position with Reid returning on the left.
Leon McKenzie may start this time.
Former Valley youngsters Keiran murtagh and Sam Williams will relish the return to South London, as will Arron Davies who scored for the Glovers in the 2005 FA Cup match.
Fred Graham from Essex will take charge.
