Southend United vs. Charlton Athletic

Roots Hall

26 February

7.45pm

Friday Night Fever

Charlton will be desperate to get their stuttering promotion challenge back on course at Roots Hall.

Southend have not won any of their last eight matches, a run that stretches back to last year. The Addicks need to be patient and composed if they are to win. They will again have the backing of a large trvelling support to aid their cause.

Vital Quotes:

Southend United Team News:

Steve Tilson will need to lift his players following the disappointment of the late, late turnaround and ultimate defeat at Norwich on Tuesday.

Player to watch: Scott Vernon

Charlton Athletic Team News:

Phil Parkinson will have to decide on the fitness of Rob Elliot and Frazer Richardson, both troubled by groin niggles.

Definitely out is Deon Burton whose place will go to either Akpo Sodje or Leon McKenzie if the manager persists with a 4-4-2 formation.

If Parkinson opts for a 4-5-1 shape, it may open the door for Jonjo Shelvey.

Player to watch: Johnnie Jackson
