Charlton will be seeking their first Carlin Cup victory for three years as they travel to Shrewsbury tonight.
With Friday's televised game against Leyton Orient in mind, Phil Parkinson is likely to name a much changed side.
Many of the players who were on the bench on Saturday are likely to be involved and some of the clubs promising youngsters could be used as back up.
'Your match fitness only really gets there after four or five games, so we have to be careful to pick a team which will win the game on Tuesday, but which won't put anybody at risk of injury.
'We'll work together with the staff, including the physio and sports scientist, to get that balance right,' said Phil Parkinson on Saturday.
