Duel With Dickov

A second v first clash, though it is very early days. Charlton will be expected to be there ot thereabouts come the end of the season though their visitors will have more modest ambitions.

The game gives Pawel Abbott an early opportunity to play against his former club. The match should prove to be an entertaining spectacle.

Vital Quotes:

Charlton Athletic Team News:

Charlton will be without suspended duo, Jose Semedo and Christian Dailly, as well as long term absentee, Kelly Youga.

Therry Racon will continue to deputise for Semedo with Miguel Llera, so impresssive when he came on for Dailly at Orient, again partnering Doherty.

Simon Francis' height will see him retain the right-back slot while another to impress last Friday, Lee Martin, will play just behind Pawel Abbott.

Player to watch: Lee Martin

Oldham Athletic Team News:

Warren Feeney, who aggravated an injury while on international duty during the week, is a doubt for Dickov's team. The fiery Scot will be pleased that influential midfielder, Dale Stephens, has penned a new deal.

Player to watch: Dale Stephens

Match Facts & Stats

Ref Watch:

This is the sort of home game which we must win. No ifs or buts. I had thought that Dailly got two yellows and would be back, but that pathetic referee must have given him a straight red for violent conduct. Even the commentastors thought that he had made a mistake in holding up two red cards.

Nevertheless it was a rubbish tackle...I dare say the ref meant a yellow card but was too embarrassed to admit he had made a mistake and should have shown a yellow and not a red
