Charlton Athletic vs. Southampton

The Valley

26 December

1.00pm

Saints Alive

After enlisting the help of fans to make The Valley safe on Thursday, local referee, Phil Crossley, gave the pitch the thumbs up on Friday morning. A bitterly cold Christmas night will have to be negotiated so do check before setting off on Sunday.

Phil Parkinson will likely revert to his favoured 4-4-2 formation. It has been a really strange December for Charlton, they will have played just three times in the previous thirty days, all in a five day period, with just one League fixture played all month.

Southampton lost at home to Brentford in their last match and their inconsistent home form is a concern to Nigel Adkins.

A tough game for the Addicks if Saints hit form. Rickie Lambert will be a threat, as will tricky midfielder, Adam Lallana.
