'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Charlton Athletic 1 - Brighton & Hove Albion 2

The Valley

23 February 7.45pm

Attendance: 17,508

Addicks Derailed

Brighton's large and vociferous following were delighted with their team's performance whilst the Addicks faithful were left rueing the night's events.

The visitors adapted much better to the heavy pitch and went ahead after Charlton spurned a glorious opportunity to open the scoring. The ball was switched to Calderon to convert from the edge of the box after 35 minutes.

Bennett sealed the win twelve minutes from time with Akpo Sodje's consolation coming with virtually the last kick.

Burton's early departure will be a worry for Phil Parkinson as well.

With Norwich and Leeds pulling further clear and Swindon, Huddersfield and Millwall closing the gap, it was a disappointing and damaging night for Charlton.

Star Player

Miguel Llera was the best of the home players on view.

Back to the usual Charlton of late then, Saturday's win was soon forgotten and counted for little really.

I'm left disappointed once again. Every club has a blip in the season we've just got to hope that we get over our major one, and fast!!!!
Charlton Addickt
Is this a case of a blip or are we in danger of totally losing out even a play off place does not look secure on our present form
weloveyoucharlton
How we do in the next match or two will tell us the answer to that.
