'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Notts County 1 - Charlton Athletic 2

Meadow Lane

13 August, 3.00pm

Attendance: 6,397

Triumph By The Trent

Charlton continued their good early season form with a win that should have been reflected by a more comfortable scoreline.

Goals late in the first half from Wagstaff and Hayes were enough to seal the victory, with Christian Montano's fortuitous effort being County's sole response. Lee Hughes has a goal ruled out for offside but both Hayes and Wright-Phillips both had a couple of glorious opportunities to score.

Chris Powell will have enjoyed what he saw from the stands.

Star Player

Danny Hollands, at the heart of everything.

"Montano's fortuitous effort" a bit kind on our defence; yet another badly defended set piece marred a great performance. CP needs to sort out this element of our play as it could cost us vital games! But in all other respects we look like winners; role on Clochester and the prospect of more goals
