Addicks Held by Sky Blues

The Addicks extended their unbeaten run to six matches, but had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw against former Addicks boss Iain Dowie, now in charge of Coventry.

The Addicks looked like claiming all three points until a late equaliser denied us, but it should have been more really. Michael Mifsud had hit the post but Luke Varney appeared to have been denied a penalty after a challenge from Ben Turner.

The Sky Blues had been guilty of missing chances, but we looked like we might get away with it until Michael Mifsud scored with time running out, but even then a diving header from Chris Iwelumo should have won it for the Addicks at the death, but he put wide.

The Addicks were ahead through Lloyd Sam, 15 minutes, when he drilled his first ever Championship goal in for the club low into the corner.

Chances came and went, moslty for the Sky Blues, and a strong penalty appeal from Luke Varney waved away before the pressure finally told and Michael Mifsud, 84 minutes, struck the equaliser, for his third goal of the week.

Before the game I had said a point wouldn't have been a bad result, and would have settled for that so I can't go back on that and I'm not overly disappointed really.

Can't say I'm that pleased. I really don't like losing late goals. It sucks. Focus Focus Focus! I hope we get things like that sorted out. BUT at least we didn't lose and a point is a point. And then there is the whole penalty thing too..... A few hiccups are allowed - but not too many I hope.

We didn't lose though Pardew is Sexy, that is the main thing. Yes we could and maybe should have won a point could be a very good result down the line.
