Referee:

The Addicks extended their unbeaten run to eight league matches, and stayed in second in the Championship but had to settle for a 1-1 with Barnsley, with the Tykes equalizing in the last minute.

The Addicks fashioned the first opportunity of the match but Luke Varney's effort was well saved by Heinz Muller but then the Tykes had an effort of their own as former Addick Jamal Campbell-Ryce crossed into Kayode Odejayi, who headed down for Grant McCann but he vollyed wide. The dealocked appeared to be broken soon after this after Darren Ambrose's corner was punched away by Muller, but only to Andy Reid, but his curling effort came back off the bar.

Another chance was spurned when a heavy touch from Andy Reid allowed Keinz Muller to dive at his feet to deny him after a fine Addicks move with Zheng Zhi then heading wide from a Reid cross. After this Jonathan Fortune was was forced off by injury, Sam Sodje relacing him just after the half hour mark.

The Tykes then failed to make the most of a guiltedged opportunity which steemed from an Addicks corner. A quick break was led by Jamal Campbell-Ryce, who cut inside before striking at goal, and this effort was tipped around the post by Nicky Weaver, and only a last ditch saving challenge from Madjid Bougherra denied Kayode Odejayi in the final minute of the half.

The half time break saw Svetoslav Todorov replace Luke Varney, then a few minutes into the half the Addicks were almost ahead again, only to be denied by the crossbar once more. Andy Reid and Zheng Zhi, the best players on the pitch were involved, Reid's cross met by Zheng's header, which bounced off the top of the bar then behind for the safety of a goalkick for the Tykes.

Chances started to stack up for the Addicks then as Zheng Zhi saw a fine effort not too far over, Sam Sodje then headed wide an Andy Reid cross, before Darren Ambrose's final act before being replaced by Jerome Thomas saw a glorious oportunity spurned after a move again involving Zheng and Reid

Heinz Muller then denied Andy Reid, who saw his curling free kick tipped around the post by the goalkeeper. This save gained the Addicks a corner from which Sam Sodje was denied a goal by Brian Howard, who cleared off the line. The opening goal wasn't long in coming after this though, finally arriving eight minutes from time when Reid crossed for Chris Iwelumo, who headed back across goal for Zheng Zhi, 82 minutes, to head home.

Having survived one scare when Lewin Nytanga headed straight at Nicky Weaver the Tykes levelled in the last minute. Martin Devaney's cross was not dealt with, and after some ricocheting around the box fellow Tykes substitute Kim Christensen, 90 minutes, drove the ball home to ensure they went back to Yorkshire with a point, which could have been even more in injury time as Grant McCann received the ball unmarked only to drive wide of the post.

Again a late goal conceded, and again it costs us. Missed chances cost us the most today though in a tough match, which I knew would be tough. But it is definitely two points dropped today.

It certainly is!!!! We will need to get that sorted out quickly! I hope things will be better after this international break. It's getting to be a bit of a trend and we must stop it or else......... But I'm sure things will get sorted :)
